Excitement for New Home at the Glenn Gould School in Toronto
Brian is thrilled to announce that he will be continuing his studies with famed Irish pianist and Beethoven scholar John O'Conor at the Glenn Gould School at the Royal Conservatory in Toronto on scholarship! Following a summer performing in the United States and abroad, Brian will begin an artist diploma at the renowned Canadian conservatory in Fall 2019.

Brian Woods Selected as Finalist in The American Prize
Brian is honored to have been named a finalist in the solo piano division of the prestigious American Prize, a nationwide competition that honors excellence in the arts based on recordings and artistic merit.

Success at the Shenandoah University Student Soloist Competition
On December 2, 2018, Brian was named a winner of the Shenandoah University Student Soloist Competition. As the winner of the graduate keyboard division, he will perform the first movement of the Tchaikovsky Piano Concerto in B-flat Minor, Op. 23 with the Shenandoah University Orchestra on February 16, 2019. Brian Woods Selected as Semifinalist in The American Prize
As of November 2018, Brian is a semifinalist in the solo piano division of the prestigious American Prize, a nationwide competition that honors excellence in the arts based solely on recordings and career accomplishment.

Brian Woods Selected as Semifinalist in International Competition
From September 18-23, 2018, Brian will have the great honor of competing with 54 other competitors in the Verona International Piano Competition in Italy. The competition consists of three rounds: a semifinal recital, a final recital, and a final concerto with orchestra. First prize in the competition is 5000 euro and a concert tour!

Recital and Masterclass in St. Louis
On July 24-25, 2018, Brian gave a recital and masterclass as the featured guest artist at the Webster University Piano Intensive in St. Louis, Missouri. He was happy to reunite with his highschool teacher, Donna Vince, and with friends and mentors Pat Eastman and Daniel Schene.
The recital was well received and the talented students a joy to teach in class.
